Great news so far- still has a ways to go- now it goes to the house. (Feb 2018)

The Utah police quota bill passed unanimously out of the senate committee today. It was harder than I thought to tell some of my stories and experiences at the Salt Lake City Police Department. I love the men and women at the department and law-enforcement around the country.

As expected, several police chiefs and heads of departments were against the bill the way it was written. Many showed up to speak against it. The whole time these questions ran through my mind… If there’s no such thing as police quotas, why come to contest this bill? If quotas didn’t exist, why dress up in uniform, drive to the Utah Capital, and publicly say you’re against a bill that changes behavior you claim to not have? Do you see what I mean?

I know I will now probably never get a job in law enforcement ever again in the state of Utah, but hopefully my experiences will help shape the culture that desperately needs to change. Allow the police and the public’s relationship to heal. Allow cops to be cops. They want to serve and protect, not have pressure to hit numbers imposed on them.

Thank you Senator Howard Stephenson for your fight to do this. Thank you Todd Weiler for your words today (your stories were great). Thank you Connor Boyack for your support and effort. Thank you Jeff Hardenbrook for your testimony about the South Jordan police and the 65 monthly mandatory ticket quota when you worked there.

I hope this bill can continue on and become a law. It’s good public policy for the state of Utah.

A person’s a person, no matter how small.

These photos of an aborted baby by a doctor are going viral; again after 50 yrs. They are changing many people’s minds and hearts about abortion. Incredible and heartbreaking.

“Then, one of the ones I decided to take was one that I would hold just the child’s feet between my fingers,” which Sacco says he did for scale. “So, I put my fingers on that so that you could identify the size of my hand – then you could identify the feet of the children.”

After developing the film, he discovered that the images of the feet were “better than I had thought. I really thought that… maybe God did that one for me.”

The image, which Dr. Sacco refused to copyright so it could be used worldwide, has been referred to as “Tiny Feet,” “Little Feet,” and “Precious Feet.”

Pretty sure we can all agree we don’t want kids to die in “gun free zone” schools, where literally anyone can come in with a gun. But I wonder why can’t we all agree that protecting these same kids in school, with guns, is the answer that would actually work?

We protect stores, banks, court houses, sporting events, POLITICIANS, (including former Presidents who oppose guns) with, guess what? guns. The list goes on and on and on… But somehow we can’t seem to protect our futures greatest asset, our children, the next generation, with guns?

It’s time start protecting ALL of our schools with guns. Allow ALL teachers and staff who want to carry, to carry.

Make no mistake, the ultimate goal of the progressive left is 100% gun confiscation from the American people. They will creep in with any excuse to crush the Second Amendment.

One more disturbing narrative I’m seeing the progressives push is that anyone with a “mental illness” shouldn’t have access to a gun? Really? Who would be in control of such a National diagnosis? Judges and doctors with agendas? They are saying if someone has had Bi-polar and or depression they should be disqualified to buy or be around a gun.

Basically they are taking out 15-20% of the American population with one swipe. That’s just people that are being treated by medication. What about people who have or have had depression that are not currently taking meds? What about people who are self medicating with alcohol everyday? Are they disqualified too? That’s probably 40% of Americans who have experienced depression in their lives.

I remember a high number of police officers I worked with ,and or their wives, who suffered from depression or PTSD. What about them? If your spouse has had a “mental illness” can your gun now be taken under this line of thinking? Including a cop?

My prediction is once we get a very radical progressive into office, maybe after Trump, the Second Amendment will try to be repealed and you will see these ideas try to be put into action.

In order to keep our rights, it’s going to take a lot of voices and strong advocacy for the Second Amendment in the upcoming years. Mark my words.

If someone tells you your thoughts or prayers don’t matter- which is usually someone who has never actually prayed- don’t listen to them. Your prayers do matter. Even if it’s across the world or country for someone else’s community or family. Because God is listening, and blessing, everyday; especially when we ask.

Continue to pray your sincere prayers; even if you have little faith in prayer, pray anyway. Even if it’s in public or on social media and you feel prompted to share your prayer, share it. The only opinion that ultimately matters, is God’s.

Prayer is the ultimate forms of power that bridges the gap between heaven and earth. Prayer softens hearts and opens minds. Prayer helps bring power and peace to individuals and families whether they know it or can recognize it.

Anytime I am having a really hard time in life, I pray. Anytime everything is going almost too smoothly in life, I pray. When I see someone’s life turn upside down, whether I know them or not, I try to remember to say a prayer for them.

I believe in prayer and know it works. I don’t know where I would be in my life without prayer. I thank God for prayer. I think we could use a lot more of it in the world. We need it.

Someone posted a comment on my wall yesterday on a very uncomfortable situation for hard working female athletes that are being subjected to compete against an individual using performance enhancing drugs against them. And not only “winning”, but destroying them physically, mentally, and morally.

He said that by me posting about it only “riles” people up and that by speaking out only divides our culture into a worse war with a “mob mentality”. In other words, and what i think he’s saying, is now I’m the bad guy.

On first look it would seem the bearer of bad news should be the one to blame. And that nobody should say a word about it. But maybe that’s the reason why we’ve gotten to a place where we have, so quickly in our society. Silence, complacency, and ultimately fear. Fear from the true mob mentality of today.

I don’t believe this culture war will simply stop with silence. However, it will and must get better when everyone can form their own opinion and be able to properly articulate that opinion freely into the marketplace of ideas. And everyone can be tolerant to an idea that doesn’t line up with their own.

MLK said this quote about staying silent. I believe this quote. I also believe the story of a girl who is taking men’s hormones in public school, and positions herself in an incredibly gross and higher advantage (while everyone stays silent and complacent at a disadvantage) is a story that matters deeply and must be talked about. It matters to the foundation of our humanity. I was going to say country, but it’s way more than that, it’s humanity.

Because if our culture can’t even know and recognize that girls are girls and boys are boys, and those girls will grow to be women and boys to be men, then we’ve already lost the cultural and spiritual war. Clearly, our foundation has been cracked and compromised. And if our foundation is having the issues, I’m going to talk about the issues. Uncomfortably sometimes.

Yes, I can annoy my wife, family, and even myself with some of the things I think and say. But I’m going to say them anyway. Why? Because that’s who I am and what I do. It’s me and I believe it’s worth it. And its been me for a very long time. Remember, if you don’t want to be subjected to my brain, there’s a little three button icon in the top right hand corner that can send my posts into silence on your device.

Use your voice. Everyone has a small circle of influence. Even if it’s just you. Entertain yourself if that’s the case. Of course we all need to love more, but please just don’t be silent because of fear. Let your voice heard on topics you’re passionate about inside your head. Life’s too short to stay silent. Have a beautiful day.
