My family is white but my Grandmother was terrorized by the Klan back in 1920's in Arkansas. She was attending services at a small church (yes all whites). The Klan rode in on horseback with their guns and whitehoods, surrounded the building, interrupted the services and threatened the congregation about VOTING for a particular candidate. My poor Grandmother said she was absolutely terrified.
