The U.S. Postal Inspection Services recently increased their partnership with Customs and Border Protection to better prohibit opioids illegally entering the U.S. The chief postal inspector said they have already reduced the number of opioids entering the U.S. by 90-percent. One America’s Christina Bobb has more from Washington.

The Walking Dead USPS led by the top zombie cant deliver mail accurately on a daily basis. You should be replaced by UPS and FedEx. Perhaps you should partner with a good mechanical garage, so no more mail ballots will burn in your 24 yr old vehicles, or was that a psyop?

Nothing not to like here… This sort of thing never made it onto the Democrats radar screen & we are fortunate to have a president whom indeed keep his promise on this & furthermore we are fortunate to have a president that can multitask so many issues simultaneously & get them done!

LOL! My sister recently retired from the post office in Maricopa, Arizona. I asked her about drugs in the mail. She said that the majority of the drugs coming into the country come through the mail, however Union postal workers refuse to check or inspect even the most blatant and obvious drug packages, because "It's not our job. It is law enforcement's job, and we don't get paid for it." That is the official Union position.

I feel like a solitary voice in this opioid situation. I have experience on both sides of the opioid situation. Opioids used as an effective pain management plan are a miracle especially when used in the patch form. When used appropriately the patch delivers the correct amount of medication continuously. You don't have the roller coaster of pain levels. Before you judge or form an opinion on opioids as a legit way to treat pain, you need to imagine what it is like for the people who suffer with serious illnesses that cause severe pain day in and day out. Opioids work for this issue.
Now, I am also the parent of someone who will be a recovering opioid addict for the rest of their lives because it is a forever battle. Opioid addiction is in a class all it's own. The pain of watching my child go through this was almost unbearable but I stood by that child and that child is clean and sober now for 18 months. The opioids that the addicts are getting their hands on are obtained illegally and rarely in the form that come from a pharmacy.
My point, through the opioid issue debates this distinction is not being made therefore it is becoming so difficult for a person who truly suffers with pain to get the medications that will Aleve the pain enough to be able to function in a world where not functioning will leave you in the dirt. A person with serious health issues has to be able to function to go to the doctors, to fill out the endless forms, to jump through all the hoops required to keep your head above water.
Let's just make sure that we are fighting to end the crisis of illegal opioids without ending access to those who use them as an effective pain management tool.

Here’s a thought. Increase staffing of CBP to take on more of the Postal Inspection/Interdiction role. (Overlap, as needed.) It might allow for USPS funds to be focused on actual postal service duties, possibly making the USPS more cost effective rather than constantly losing money.

    Fun Fact:
The drug war started in 1915 with the Harrison Narcotics Act because of an opioid crisis. It was estimated 1.3% of population was addicted.
2020: After 105 years a trillion$ spent and millions of people thrown in metal cages, families torn apart, thousands of dogs shot and over 80,000 SWAT raids each year, the drug addiction rate it… 1.3%
